A Galaxy S5 plastic back with a “leather effect” ? This new rumor comes break the hopes of those who looked forward to a metal shell for the next high-end smartphone from Samsung. If this remains a rumor again, we will explain why and how Samsung could make the same choice of material with its Galaxy Note 3.

There is little time, we told you about the confirmation of the metal shell for Galaxy S5, based on our material suppliers that will produce these shells for the Korean manufacturer by the second quarter of 2014 . He finally found that it could be used in the production of the Galaxy Series F, a new premium range that the manufacturer intends to launch next year. The Galaxy S5 would meanwhile wearing a back polycarbonate “leather effect” as is the case of the Galaxy Note 3. The choice of these materials on the phablet Samsung could not be a “transition” as one might think.

Galaxy S5 could be introduced as early as next January with a leatherette back and why not curved as seen on the Galaxy Round. The metal hulls are therefore for the new Galaxy series F we heard there are few. If nothing is confirmed and it is indeed a new rumor, the source would be nearest Samsung and does not come completely contradict the previous one in the sense that there will be many smartphones with metal shell, but this might not be the S5.
