Q Samsung Galaxy Tab, a 7-inch … phablette – Frandroid

Samsung recently formalized a smartphone that answers to the name of Galaxy Tab Q. This is actually quite a phablette since the diagonal of the screen reaches … 7 inches!

Samsung Galaxy TabQ

In April, we already talked about this “smartphone” Samsung with its 7-inch screen that was passed into the hands of TENAA, the certification body of the Chinese telecoms. This time, it’s official: Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy TabQ, now stored in the smartphones category of the site. screen diagonal 7 inches is the part, which rather puts the Galaxy Tab Q in the category of phablettes .

Galaxy Tab Q has everything telephone microphone, speaker and support for 4G networks (1800/1900/2100/2300 and 2600 MHz) . For its size, however, could use some work since with 99.7 x 191.8 x 8.9 mm, it is close to the Nexus Tablet 7 . You see this strange device with phone in hand? I do not? Well we! In contrast, level design, Samsung has had the good idea to trim up the edges to avoid the effect shelf and give a little more aspect to the whole smartphone. A phablette which is reminiscent of the Asus FonePad that we have tested.

When we dwell on the technical details, we realize that Samsung n ‘ not pampered her phablette and it will not be for the high-end . The definition screen (1280 x 720 pixels) is a bit low, especially for the size of the screen. The SoC is a quad-core 1.2 GHz without elaborating. For photo party / video, definition rear sensor rises to 8 megapixels against 2 megapixel front. The battery is rather consistent with 3200 mAh but it is questionable whether this is sufficient capacity to supply the 7-inch screen all day.

For the moment, the Galaxy TabQ Samsung is only available in China (in two versions depending on the network frequencies) but it seems that availability is planned for the United States.
