Formalized August 13 HERE, Samsung has taken a new direction with the announcement of Alpha Galaxy . The flagship Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Note 3.4 S5 course keep their place, but the Korean manufacturer operates a design change and a break with all the plastic we knew with Samsung.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha offers a more angular design and especially slices brushed aluminum, all in a lightweight 115g for only 6.7mm thick. For technical specifications, it offers a Super AMOLED 4.7 “with a 720p resolution, an octo-core processor Exynos 5 (a quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 and a quad-core Cortex-A7 1.3GHz) + 4G compatibility, 32GB of internal memory (no port Micro-SD), 2GB of RAM, a 12 megapixel camera with video camera with 2.1 megapixels, video recording Ultra HD, a biometric reader, a heart rate monitor and a battery of 1860mAh only. It will be available in September in Version Silver or Gold. No price yet but we are talking about a price around 600 €.
When you take control for the first time the Galaxy Alpha, you can only be surprised by its light weight. 115g, it’s really light in hand, despite the screen of 4.7 “. You will not go to either side of design that marks a break at the finish with slices brushed aluminum and bevelled at the edges, which is more consistent with the high-end smartphone side that wants the brand. Ensure that only the edge is made of brushed aluminum, the rest continue to be plastic as the back or inside the device, so it’s not a unibody like the latest iPhone or HTC One (M7) / (M8). Speaking of back is plastic but Samsung has been working on it to give it a more metal and made different from what we have known with the Galaxy S5 and / or Galaxy Note 3 It is pleasant to touch and not keep any fingerprints.
The removable back allows to change the battery and in case allows access to SIM port. As a reminder, too, the Galaxy Alpha will only be available in a 32GB version and does not have a MicroSD slot. Some may feel cramped. Samsung offers a Exynos 5430 next octo-core processor we begin to be familiar with 2GB of RAM. It is already compatible 4G + in case. In terms of the display is a Super AMOLED 4.7 “HD resolution. Some may cry foul because we are in the era of full HD or even Quad HD. In practice, and quite honestly, I did not notice anything special to the naked eye, it was very clean and rather late at the display, at least for this tutorial. In the end, the Alpha Galaxy is rather pleasant to use and first impressions are good but I wish I still have a lower price, even if it is there to compete with the future iPhone 6 In addition, if you look more closely, and without wishing to troll, it is not far from the design of the iPhone 5 / 5S on the edges and I’m sure the Korean brand is able out both a better and more original.
