Samsung Galaxy Note 5: great autonomy despite his “little … – Frandroid

The first of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 autonomy tests are beginning to be published, and the results are quite good, contrary to what the least optimistic could imagine. Like what, a fact sheet does not say everything.

Last week, Samsung introduced its new smartphones, the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy 5 Edge + S6. Among the issues that have most shocked at the announcement (except the unavailability of the first in our country at the moment), the battery capacity of these two smartphones sparked much controversy. With “only” 3,000 mAh, it is – on paper – less powerful than the Galaxy Note 4 (3220 mAh). In fact, it seems that may be quite different.

The specialized site PhoneArena is indeed already in possession of the phone and conducted its own tests of autonomy. The procedure is exactly the same for each phone that supports a web-script simulating an average consumption with brightness set to 200 cd / m². In this experiment, the Galaxy Note 5 held 9 hours and 11 minutes, or 28 minutes longer than its predecessor. The Galaxy S6 + Edge meanwhile went even further by remaining on for 9 hours and 29 minutes.

Another good point for the Galaxy Note 5, it recharges faster than its predecessor. If Samsung extolled its wireless charging system that can completely fill the phone’s battery in just 2 hours (1 hour and 30 wired), life-size testing by Phone Arena show that it can recharge in 81 minutes, where the Galaxy Note 4 put 95 minutes. A slight difference was due course by the same battery capacity. Similarly, Phone Arena announcement 80 minutes to fully recharge the Galaxy S6 + Edge. In this game, it is nevertheless the ZenFone 2 (also with a battery of 3000 mAh) is most impressive with only 58 minutes required to go from 0 to 100%.

This difference Galaxy Note 4 could be explained by a newer and more energy efficient version of the software part of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy 5 S6 + Edge. It is not therefore rule out the possibility of reaching an update on the model of last year would improve a little its autonomy
