It’s hard to believe, yet a team of computer security researchers discovered the existence of a fault for listening to telephone conversations of Samsung brand smartphone owners. The problem was revealed by two experts Daniel Komaromy and Nico Goldelors at Mobile Pwn20wn PacSec of Tokyo, a contest of hackers “nice” to test the safety of high-tech products.
This is a type attack “Man in the Middle”. In computer language, the attack called “the middle man” is a technique that is for a hacker to come between you and your recipient in order to intercept the exchanges taking place. To do this, however, this requires installing a listening station near the smartphone spied. This is far from the reach of all, obviously.

All wireless phones, and more generally all mobile communication devices operate reality with two operating systems that run one next to the other. When the phone is connected to. a network (mobile or internet), the listening station previously installed sends small software (firmware, computer language) that allows to hack the chip. Communications can then be picked up by a hacker to remotely without the user can notice it.

Rest assured, Samsung’s engineers are already on the spot to correct the flaw! Two computer security researchers have not publicly revealed the whole procedure, to avoid temptation. A detailed report was presented to Samsung. Like Google, the Korean giant now offers monthly security updates is available in the next few days.
At the same event, another flaw was detected this time concerning the Chrome browser for Android. With this flaw, it would be possible to install an application on any Android device, and without the user can notice it.
