Google finds 11 security vulnerabilities on the Galaxy S6 edge – Le Journal du Geek

For some time, security is a selling point for manufacturers and after iOS earlier this week, it was the turn of Android to talk a little about him. Google wants to improve the security of its mobile OS, and for this the company has implemented a security program focused on: Fatal Frame

This program is considered the Galaxy S6 edge , the high-end Samsung. And the least we can say is that security is not perfect in Samsung because it is not less than 11 security vulnerabilities which have been found by the Mountain View teams.

Research on the popular flagship Samsung focused on three main areas:

-Access to contacts, messages and photos remotely (and without action the part of the user preference).
-Have access to contacts, photos, geolocation, etc. from an application without asking the rights to the Playstore.
persistent -Make code fraudulently installed on the phone.

It only took a week to Google teams to find these flaws. One for file decompression anywhere (and therefore sensitive areas) on the phone while another allowed the execution of JavaScript code via the mail client on the phone.

Google is obviously contacted the Korean giant to report its findings and allow it to correct these faults as soon as possible. Samsung has been reactive since 8 of the 11 vulnerabilities already are) corrected and there are only less critical to address in a future update.

Google vain to be exemplary in terms of safety on its OS, including keeping it updated regularly, it can do nothing against the lack of monitoring on the part of builders that add overlays to their phones and slowing the deployment of updates, including the one concerning the safety of our phones.
