Test Ford Galaxy (2015): the test of the great Ford minivan – argus

five minivans in its range , Ford is distinguished by a double offer in the category of “large”: on one side the S-Max (4.80 m long) style dynamic and already with seven seats, another pioneer the Galaxy (4.85 m) and rough-hewn playing the carriers. If it sells for about three times less than its little brother, the new generation takes over after nine years of loyal service to the previous version.

preserved Dimension

In the spirit of “Global” Ford design include the famous gaping grille (how Aston Martin?), the tapered optical and taut lines. The Galaxy only increases by 3 cm in length and benefits from the recent platform “CD Global” shared with the S-Max , the Mondeo and the Edge. This common identity is reflected in the interior with a new instrument panel, but very similar to the S-Max. Loyal Ford customers will therefore not be disoriented by moving from one model to another.

Equipment modernized

In the premium finish Titanium charged € 42,600 in TDCi 180 hp, the most powerful diesel version after 120 and 150 hp, Galaxy features a plethora of new equipment for comfort, security and connectivity . Note the appearance of an intelligent speed limiter (scan traffic signs), an anti-collision assistant with pedestrian detection, adaptive LED lights glare, a hands-free power liftgate .. . A similar version is € 3,500 more than the S-Max. The price to pay for not kowtow to the rear seats and receive 319 liters more
