Rumors from China claim that Samsung is currently in talks with Sony to integrate IMX300 image sensors in future Samsung Galaxy S7.
As the Galaxy S6, it is very likely that the Galaxy S7 will receive different image sensors. A Chinese leaker on Weibo, Samsung is currently in talks with Sony to integrate photo sensors IMX 300 on the Galaxy S7. This means that some phones are therefore equipped with sensors Isocell picture from Samsung and other image sensors 300 IMX from Sony. A situation which was already encountered on the Galaxy S6, on which was either a photo sensor Isocell or a Sony IMX240 photo sensor. With quite different results

IMX300 is a photo sensor which was already met the Xperia Z5. The photos we have taken have proved convincing – at least much more than on the Xperia Z3 – despite numerous software limitations of Sony. On this phone, it is a 23 MP sensor or rumored, a 25 MP sensor clamped by Sony.
If Samsung decides to manufacture smartphones containing both Isocell and the IMX300 sensor, the question datasheets announced the Galaxy S7 remains. How indeed sell a smartphone that could as well have a 20 MP sensor (Isocell) 23 or 25 MP (Sony IMX 300)? There would be two options. Or Samsung would incorporate one or the other of these sensors exclusively to specific variants of Galaxy S7 (Sony on the Galaxy S7 and Isocell on the Edge view). Either not allowing smartphones equipped with Sony not to provide snapshots at ratio 16: 9 (20 megapixels) and eliminating the possibility of using the 4: 3 format (23 megapixels). The latter is most likely.
According to Phone Arena, the Sony IMX 300 would be a 25 MP sensor.
Finally, if one believes Phone Arena, Sony wants to ensure that this image sensor is exclusive to Xperia smartphones. Samsung is therefore currently conducting negotiations with the Japanese company to convince her to integrate Galaxy to S7. Given the popularity of its predecessors, it would be surprising that Sony does not crack.
