Galaxy S7: lower prices to drive sales? – Numerama

The Galaxy S7, S6 awaited successor should be slightly cheaper sold to boost sales of Samsung’s smartphones, predicts analyst.

Launched in April The Samsung Galaxy S6 is the spearhead in smartphones for the year 2015. In charge of occupying the field of high-end phones and deceive Apple and its iPhone 6, the mobile was armed accordingly: Also very strong technical characteristics enabling it to qualify for any major performance, particular attention was given to design

Unfortunately for Samsung, the Galaxy business performance S6 have. not high enough to meet the initial objectives set out by the South Korean company and designed by analysts. This is obviously not a failure of Galaxy S6, but the group no longer able to set new records: for example, it outsold the S5, but failed to surpass the S4

The Galaxy S7 can he stand where the S6 tripped? Everything will depend on the levers that will be activated by Samsung to achieve this: because even with more power and a more elegant design, it is not certain that the recipe works. It is likely that the group have to follow other ways, imagining new possibilities with the phone … or by selling it at a more affordable price.

A decrease of 10%

This is the challenge of a Chinese analyst, whose opinion was echoed by Firstpost. It believes that Samsung will sell the Galaxy S7 to a tariff rate slightly lower than the S6, about 10%. This decline may well make it much more attractive for the consumer looking to purchase a high-end phone and create the conditions necessary for good business momentum. Still, it always will be very expensive phone. Indeed, recall that at launch, the S6 cost between 700 and 900 euros depending on the version, while the price of S6 Edge was between 850 and 1050 euros
