Snapdragon 810 large concerns for performance, Galaxy S6 and LG … – GinjFo

Apple was the first manufacturer to move to 64-bit smartphone. The arrival of this type of architecture is controversial, considered far-fetched and useless up to be described by Qualcomm as a “marketing gimmick”. Since 2011, the months have passed and competition naturally adopted the same strategy, even at Qualcomm. However, it seems that the next Snapdragon does not look as expected.

According to the Korea Times Snapdragon 810, which should equip the Galaxy S6, the LG G4 and many other phones Android this year, would face several problems related to performance. The situation is serious enough to glimpse the delayed launches.

The chip “flag ship” manufacturer 2015 encounter some problems that the company was quick to deny the Korea Times, however, insists his revelations. It indicates

“Problems such as overheating certain tensions and performance degradation associated with memory controller problems have been reported. Its operating frequency, an index representing the performance of a processor has been calibrated at a lower value than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 805 “

Several analysts of JP Morgan confirmed this information by pointing out that all this was known since December 2014 for both the Snapdragon 615 for version 810. They then explained

“For the Snapdragon 810, a flagship chip for use in high-end models, we believe that the problems are related to the implementation of new core ARM 64-bit (A57), which are the source of overheating during acceleration above 1.2 to 1.4 GHz which are major limitations for a flagship phone “

To solve the problems, Qualcomm might need review copy with a new version of Snapdragon 810, which could delay of several months the launch of some high-end Android smartphones.
