J-5 before the official presentation of the Galaxy at S6 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Meanwhile, information about the new Samsung flagship smartphone continue to spread the dropper. One of the two versions of the device – namely equipped with a screen with two curved edges to the right and left inspired Edge Rating – should be sold over 1,000 euros, understands the US site Ars Technica.

In detail, the Galaxy S6 in 3 faces, with 128 GB, 1,049 euros should be sold “naked” (that is to say without subscription) and it will count 949 euros for one with 64 GB. With regard to the more traditional model, prices are expected to amount to respectively 749, 849 and 949 euros for the 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB.

Mobile Payment

If Samsung was down in the mid-range in recent months, the South Korean group does not appear decided to abandon permanently the premium segment to Apple. S6 and Galaxy will aim to overshadow the iPhone 6 – whose prices the model “Plus” are up 1,019 euros – which saw sales break all records since its launch in September 2014.

A role that none of the recent devices of the group, oriented on the Premium – namely the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Alpha 4 – was able to hold. Samsung should offer its own mobile payment system, like Apple Pay available on the latest smartphone of the firm at the apple. Last week, the South Korean group has formalized the purchase of LoopPay, a US startup that has developed a mobile payment solution and without contact.

At the end of 2014, Will Graylin – the CEO of this company based in Massachusetts – had entrusted the site Re / code that the technology developed by its start -up would equip a mobile terminal to be released in 2015 and for the general public.

Battery

The South Korean group should also produce itself the Galaxy S6 processor – and does not incorporate the latest model of Qualcomm (Snapdragon 810) – in its semiconductor plants. And could opt for a chip 14 nanometer (nm).

For now, Samsung is the only one who knows manufacture this chip that is thinner than any on the market and which also has the advantage of being less energy. Moreover, the South Korean group opted for a battery of 2,600 mAh, as the site provides FrAndroid.

Finally, the two versions of the Galaxy S6 should be equipped with a metal shell and a screen of 5.1 inches diagonally – halfway between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 respectively with a 4.7 and 5.5-inch display. A balance that will allow Samsung to fly, this time with consumers? Answer in a few weeks.
