Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: two elements that confirm its … – The Digital

Samsung confirmed that its MWC press conference will be held the 1st March in Barcelona. The invitation for the event confirms that one or more models should be curved edges of the game. In parallel, a patent granted to the manufacturer shows that it works well on smartphones with two curved edges simultaneously.

In recent weeks, rumors regarding the Samsung Galaxy S6, and a likely release “Edge “going well. Until yesterday, however, they were based on anonymous testimony. Certainly many, yet unverifiable. But we can now reasonably assume that these doubts of the past. First, because Samsung yesterday sent invitations for a press conference to be held on 1 March in Barcelona. Although it is difficult to identify exactly which part of the smartphone is shown that invitation below, it seems obvious that this is a device with unusual curves.

Then the site Patently Mobile managed to get their hands on a very interesting patent, recently awarded to Samsung. On the sketches that accompany it, we discover that the manufacturer has actually filed a patent to protect the idea of a smartphone with a screen with two curved edges. If this Galaxy Edge S6 can see the day he would represent the next stage of the project started with the Galaxy Note Edge, which in turn offers only one curved screen edge. Samsung will here even further since the curvature does not stop at the one front side and even will cover a portion of the edges on the back of the device.
Even more surprising, the manufacturer has designed and illustrated a system with a mechanical block able to “come out” from the top of the smartphone. The patent does not detail the content or accuracy of this function block. The paris are open. Be careful, it is now accepted that although Samsung will present on March 1, the Galaxy S6 and one or more variants with screen curved edges, nothing says that all the functions mentioned in the patent will appear in future models . Patent cemeteries are host to an infinite number of stillborn ideas on paper.
