For years, there is talk of a possible security through iris recognition on our phones. The first Android device to bring this technology in Europe could be nothing that the next Galaxy Note from Samsung, the Galaxy Note very likely 7.
As a Arles, the subject of iris recognition on our smartphones regularly in the news. Already available on some Lumia (Windows 10 Mobile, for example the recent Lumia 950) and on Android smartphones reserved in Japan, this technology could be available in our country in the coming months, driven by Samsung.
the PriceRaja site has got hold of a supposed screenshot of a beta firmware again the next Galaxy Note. If the translation given by GSMArena is correct, the image shows the phone’s security settings, offering various options, including PIN and … the use of the iris. Coupled with recent retinal cameras spotted in transit between South Korea and India, this suggests that Samsung is preparing to release a smartphone equipped with this technology.
That would explain among others the number of present front sensors on the 3D rendering of the Galaxy Note 6 – or Galaxy Note 7 rumored – published recently by uSwitch. Two additional sensors are therefore a camera and a source of disturbing light to create the optimum conditions for scanner.
As the current fingerprint sensors, the iris scan is a method generally very reliable security, fast and without much strain. The question is whether many users would find an additional advantage over current methods.
For now, the next Galaxy Note still not official. It should be presented in the summer, and maybe even a little earlier than usual.
