bend, bend it?
technologies in mobile telephony is evolving very quickly, it is a fact. The screen says “flexible” is no exception, but still limited.
technology is progressing well, but not today enables the design of flexible smartphones really, at least if we think of a phone we could bend. However, the flexible panels do exist and can be integrated in a mobile to design bent or curved around an axis, either horizontal or vertical.
LG opted for the horizontal axis with its G Flex , which is already sold in Korea since November and should reach us certainly in 2014. Rumors Samsung Galaxy S5 is curved rife. One of them mentions a bend on its vertical axis, the image of Galaxy Round formalized in October, where another indicates that as Flex G LG , it would be the horizontal axis. We mentioned last month in this article.
But the bad news, there is one, is that Samsung currently produces slabs its Galaxy Round and therefore will be unable manufacture that Galaxy S5 . The reason is obvious, the current production lines are busy and Korean giant could provide flexible screens that 500,000 5 inches per month, which would inevitably too little to ensure a massive output of the phone with this type of screen . This is quite understandable when we know Galaxy S4 has already sold over 40 million copies, including 10 million in the first month.
That said, according to the Korea Herald, the leader mobile market provide for investing in a new production line to pass the threshold of one million units per month, but it will not happen soon enough for making S5 , which could be announced next January for a marketing from March / April 2014, if the rumors prove.
after AndroidCummunity , Samsung think I can produce a million of its next flagship phone (note: design Traditional) during January and six million units in February 2014. What to avoid, perhaps, a shortage in the first months following the launch.
All this is yet to be conditional pending further information from Samsung perhaps CES in January 2014 to be held in Las Vegas.
Are you disappointed not to see happen next flagship with design curved? Are you interested still far without that?
