Samsung Galaxy S5 plastic, finally? - Gizmodo

If Samsung makes great phones, one of the main criticisms against the brand for its high-end smartphones remains massive use of plastic. Some were taken in hope to see the metal in the S5 … And finally if it retained its plastic chassis?

A new report from Digitimes says that if Samsung tests indeed the metal chassis for its future devices, the South Korean automaker is considering designing its new flagship with a plastic shell that has already made its greatly evidence. This speculation is based on the fact that currently no manufacturer has launched the production of a metal chassis for Samsung. The smartphone is expected by the end of February …

Samsung should continue with a plastic chassis as is now the case for many models. No doubt it says that the South Korean should a more or less near future adopt composite materials – fiberglass / plastic or fiber carbon / plastic – to further reduce the costs and increase margins somewhat.

fans who hoped for a “deluxe version” metal should definitely still take their troubles patiently …
