Up2You: Samsung allows you to rent the Galaxy S7 – CNET France

Up2You: Samsung allows you to rent the Galaxy S7

Aware that it is not always easy to pay 700 euros or more for a smartphone, Apple launched last September a rental offer for its iPhone that allows to spend less suddenly and especially iPhone to change every year. Samsung is in a similar situation with its Galaxy S7, it is hardly surprising that today announced a similar service called Up2You.

The first says the brand in a statement. This is half true, since Apple offers does not exist here, but dealers have however leasing proposals, including the FNAC. This is a first for any manufacturer in reality. It is fun however to note qu’Up2You exists at present that of France. It is the French exception … in partnership with Evollis specializing in this kind of thing.

For 10 euros more … on paper

For Galaxy S7, it will pay an initial rent of 89 euros and 32 installments of 27 euros per month. 24-month commitment required. Altogether it is therefore 710 euros, 11 euros more than the retail price for the smartphone. This is the basic offering, count 34 euros per month to add an insurance case and 36 euros for breakage and theft insurance.

For the S7 Edge, it will spend 119 euros the first time and 30 euros monthly. This gives a total of 809 euros, this time it is 10 euros more. It will be 37 euros to ensure against breakage and 39 against theft and breakage. In the case of basic packages, the additional cost is low enough to be attractive if you can not pay the whole amount at once. Especially when the new model hits the market, you will have hands.

Except that this additional cost is assessed against the smartphones launch price. Now it is already possible to find Galaxy S7 around 670 euros by live dealers, and even within 600 via the “Market Place” or Amazon Price Minister. So, it appears the slightly less interesting once, unless you want absolutely the last model “Day One”.
