Processor and Performance

In terms of performance, the benchmarks are unanimous, the Galaxy Note 4 beats all its competitors whatever the version, Exynos or Snapdragon 805 5 Octa. Moreover, each of the team is a modem 4G LTE Category 6 , to achieve a maximum throughput of 300 Mbps, double category 4 found on the other models.

With its Snapdragon processor clocked at 801 AC version 2.5 Ghz along with 3 GB of RAM, the Sony Xperia Z3 stands at version 3 GB of LG G3 and above the HTC One M8 (801 Snapdragon “AB” 2.3 Ghz with 2GB of Ram) and Galaxy S5 (801 Snapdragon “AC” at 2.5GHz and 2GB of Ram). A performance gain probably most striking about benchmarks for the user and will remain dependent on software optimization remains generally very good for Sony.

Screen

If each of the five devices included in the comparative features a screen size of its own, two of them still stand out. This is the Galaxy Note 4 and LG G3 are the only two to propose a definition display Quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixels on a diagonal of 5.7 inches for the first and 5.5 inches on the second.

If the benefit of such a definition face of Full HD 1080p on a 5-inch screen and dust is far from obvious , increasing the number of pixels is real and plays necessarily the accuracy of the image. The question is whether this difference is noticeable or not to the human eye but either way, we should expect to see the Quad HD in all the high-end in a few months.

Although “limited” to a Full HD screen, the Sony Xperia Z3 offers a better display than its predecessor (which was already excellent) with its maximum brightness of 600 nits. A difference emerged very well on photos of grip.

Camera

In terms of photography, Galaxy Note and Sony Xperia 4 Z3 seem pretty well defended on paper. Like the Galaxy S5, the latest Samsung team 16 Megapixels sensor photo f / 1.9 designed, not by the Korean but by Sony. This team is an optical image stabilizer Smart OIS which should significantly improve the quality of the films, especially those made in low light.

The Sony Xperia Z3 maintains, for its part, photo sensor of 20.7 Megapixels previous models, however, it has undergone several improvements. Starting with its angle of view that goes to 25mm but especially his Maximum sensitivity is now ISO 12800 . Never seen on a smartphone.

Although a few months old, the other flagships present in the comparison still hold up to this level through clean technologies to each of them, including the combos OIS Plus / laser autofocus for the LG G3, the UtraPixel side of HTC and the Galaxy S5 ISOCELL sensor that can capture an image in less than 0.3 seconds.

Autonomy

With its powerful 3220 mAh battery and Ultra Power Saving Mode technology, the Galaxy Note 4 should provide a satisfactory range. Samsung also promised that its Quad HD screen only consumed 7.5% more energy than the Note 3. phablette also benefits, the benefits of fast charging. 30 minutes just enough to load 50 of its battery.

Although she lost 100 mAh battery should allow the Z3 Xperia smartphone to benefit from two days of autonomy thanks to STAMINA mode but again it is a promise just waiting to prove himself.

Finally, LG G3 Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 have been able to satisfy their users terms of independence through technologies to make the most of their batteries.

Conclusion

If Samsung has unveiled this afternoon real concentration innovation with its Galaxy Note 4, Sony preferred to remain on its achievements by focusing on design while providing various improvements, starting with the screen, the camera, but also the resistance of the device water and dust.

Innovations in Xperia Z3 are less spectacular but become significant when summed together. The question is whether they are sufficient to justify spending Z2 to Z3.

Regarding the “old” models mentioned above, competition automatically becomes tougher with the arrival of these two new flagships, however none of them is really exceeded
