Samsung Galaxy S7 vs LG G5: first picture comparison – Mensquare

How good are new G5 LG and Samsung Galaxy S7 for photo? Discover a first comparison of the two image sensors from the MWC.

The two South Korean manufacturers have finally unveiled their high-end smartphones for 2016. The highly anticipated LG and Samsung Galaxy G5 S7 ship both a datasheet top flight, including the particularities of each of the two smartphones on the side of the camera. Meanwhile, here is a first analysis by the clichés that we could achieve with the devices.

Very different sensors

As a reminder the LG G5 is equipped with a double 16 and 8 megapixel sensor. This allows a high image quality as well as wide-angle shots to 135 degrees through the second sensor. In front, the Samsung Galaxy S7 equips a 12-megapixel camera with an f / 1.7, and enjoying the Dual Pixel technology that captures more light. This allows particularly much better than before in low light.

High Resolution

According to our preliminary observations, both smartphones offer a dive ( level of detail sharpness) very important. The shots are of undeniable clarity, and it seems that the G5 LG and Samsung Galaxy S7 are equal on this point. You can enlarge the image and to zoom to the maximum without special loss of data on the screen. The optical image stabilization plays its role in both erasing any motion blur on the details.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and development

On the side autofocus, the most powerful device at these first tests was the Samsung Galaxy S7. The smartphone performs the focus at an impressive rate, with almost instantaneous autofocus. The LG G5 is also very fast of course, but we observe the appearance less “immediate” setting (which still remains very far from being slow).

LG G5 and large angle

the LG G5 however takes over when it comes to camera angle. Thanks to its wide 135 degree angle sensor, the device allows you to include more data on the screen. All this information seems perfectly managed by the device, and did not cause side distortions during these first pictures. In front, the Galaxy S7 thus takes equally qualitative clichés, but with a little less visible topics “on the edges”.

An equivalent zoom

Finally, another point on which the two smartphones are alike is that of digital zoom. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 both offer very satisfactory results and well above the average zooming maximum. The optical image stabilization shows its effectiveness in one as in the other, to create very own clichés stabilization smartphones minimum. These first tests therefore show some equal points, but also benefits consistent with the specifications of each device: a large angle more effective at LG with the second sensor, focus more rapid development at Samsung soliciting entire surface of the sensor . The question is whether these analyzes are confirmed in our comprehensive comparative!
