7 vs Galaxy Note Edge S7: a new drop test proves … – Phonandroid

The Galaxy Note 7 is the first smartphone market to embark on the last glass protective Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Edge S7 is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The new model is really stronger than the old one?

One of the first Galaxy Note 7 drop test conducted last week had suggested that the new glass Corning was more robust than the older generation used to date. Specifically, the Gorilla Glass 5 is supposed to withstand 80% falls to 1.60 meters tall. In the case of Gorilla Glass 4, this limit was 1 meter.

Aware that most falls occurred from the shoulder, not the waist, Corning wanted to offer a more effective solution. The question is what happens in practice, why our CNET colleagues were keen to perform a drop test using competition both phones.

Laches face against the ground, both phones remain intact , however when they fall to the side, only 7 Note that team of the latest generation of glass manages to resist and screen S7 Edge cracks. Finally, back, disappointment since we see that both are in the same equalities and 5 Gorilla Glass crack . This fragility is it related to a possible treatment for the glass make it shiny? It remains possible.

Anyway, this video confirms the superiority of the latest generation of Corning glass face to the previous. It is far from unbreakable smartphone like the Moto X Force which we could test the robustness by ourselves but the progress made by the glass manufacturer are significant.
