Samsung Galaxy Tab S: no update to for Marshmallow … – LesMobiles.com

The first generation Galaxy Tab S was able to upgrade to Android Lollipop in 2015 and it will apparently be content. Samsung would not have planned to upgrade to Marshmallow.

With the launch of Android Nougat approaching (a Canadian operator had left believe he could even take place today, Monday, August 22), Samsung saw fit to reassure prospective buyers Galaxy Note 7 on the next upgrade the new arrival but was probably less welcomed the side of camera owners still trapped under Lollipop. Should we infer that the deployment is completed Marshmallow? This remains to be confirmed but the fate of the first generation Galaxy Tab S is now sealed.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

It will simply Lollipop

Worried still not see get the Android 6.0 on the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, a Dutch user decided to interview on the subject via Samsung Facebook . The ax fell a little less than an hour later. The update is not provided. We must therefore be content with Android 5.0 Lollipop. It’s a bit disappointing for former flagship of Samsung tablets, although launch dates back to the summer of 2014. The Galaxy Note 4 arrived a few weeks later and it has not prevented from receiving the update …

unfortunately, we must remember that smartphones are still selling better than tablets. The number of Galaxy Tab S users therefore was probably deemed insufficient to justify the development of an update to Android Marshmallow and costs involved. We must therefore invest in a Galaxy Tab S2 to switch to Marshmallow but the best may be yet to wait for the new generation that should even go to Android Nougat, if they are not directly supplied with.

the presentation of the Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to return as part of the IFA, on 31 August or 1 September and the launch should follow quickly.
