The summer coming, we will be increasingly called upon to use our smartphones outdoors. Each year manufacturers offer a better screen resolution but also higher brightness and contrast adjusted upward. However, few smartphones still manage to offer optimum visibility in sunlight .
After testing the Galaxy S6 outdoor visibility, the iPhone 6, the HTC One M9 and Galaxy Note 4, our colleagues at PhoneArena offer us a comparison today.
As you already know, the Galaxy and the Galaxy Note S6 4 equip themselves with Super AMOLED screens, characterized by the depth of their contrast but also their propensity to measure the intensity of the ambient light thanks to the phone’s light sensor then rise the brightness of the screen above its usual level .
Moreover, this type of screen, the brightness is not controlled by a general backlight since each pixel has its own brightness level. A brightness level varies depending on the displayed image. When we tested the Galaxy S6, last month, we had already highlighted the excellent level of brightness that allows it to offer a very good readability outdoors. It will therefore not be surprised that PhoneArena was elected its first comparative.
However, according to the American site, iPhone 6 is virtually tied . And seen pictures, we must admit that the smartphone headed is doing pretty well. It must be said that the four tested smartphones is he who offers the highest maximum brightness. Then comes the Galaxy Note 4 while the HTC One M9 is in last place.
Although this test is rather subjective to the extent that it is based on how readers perceive the images, must admit that some of them speak for themselves and that will tend to be quite agree with the order of preference of the author of the same test if, in any case, none of the four n is at the screen of the Sony Xperia Z3
