Getting started with the Samsung S2 Galaxy Tab tablet – Geeks and Com ‘

Samsung Galaxy S2 - Geeks and Test Com

There are a little over a year, Samsung really going to attack tablet market with a new range of high-end devices, the Galaxy Tab S. With Super AMOLED screen of 2560 × 1600, the Exynos 5 Octa processors and more integrated software functions, the range soon proved most interesting placing on the market until now.

Samsung has just announced the second version of its Galaxy Tab Tablet S in Canada but also in France that simply called the Galaxy Tab S2 with two screen sizes available. We have a unit on hand for a few days and here are our first impressions hot. Note that in this section of grip, we use the Samsung Galaxy S2 9 “and that we will compare to the Samsung S Galaxy Tab 10.5″ (tested in version 8.4 “last year on Geeks and Com ‘last year).

Design and finishing

Like the previous version that had a screen with 4:10 p.m. appearance ratio and a resolution of 2560 × 1600, S2 has completely changed shape and screen size for now have a format 4: 3 screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, recalling much the iPad Air Apple format. With this change, the tablet now adopts vertical use default and three buttons (multitasking, home / fingerprint sensor and back) are now under the screen when used vertically.

In short, the tablet is much like an iPad Air: it is very thin, light and with the ratio change of the screen, the Tab 2 S has dimensions similar to Apple’s product. One negative of the tablet that the former did not is the location of the speakers: the previous generation was one on the left side and one on the right side of the screen while the Tab S2, both of them on the edge which is found below when using in portrait format, which can mute the sound if one is not careful.

The finish and quality Tablet building seem good at first glance. They remind me very much that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but with a different rear is this time a non uniform textured plastic. We’ll see with longer term use has the impression it gives, but the initial feedback is positive. The screen as mentioned above is of type Super AMOLED with a resolution of 2048 × 1536. From my initial observations, it is very pleasant to use, bright and shiny and black are always so perfect.

First boot and interface

At first startup, we have the usual configuration settings with the ability to restore a backup from another device linked to the same Google account. This feature helps to quickly configure their device to use it quickly. We also have connection to the Samsung account which then offers another backup device even if it seems a bit redundant and undesirable for former Google. Several users also expect gifts, either normally paid apps, but available free to users of Galaxy devices.

More generally, the software is very similar to the one found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and for the moment I must say that it offers a good response to the use, despite some minor slowdowns when accessing the Briefing menu (far left on the home screen). We will test in more detail as well as using several benchmark software to see how the tablet behaves in situations of intensive use of resources.

First notice before a test Complete the Samsung S2 Galaxy Tab

This was a very brief overview of our initial impressions of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 after a few hours of handling and use . The first opinion is therefore very positive and makes you want to discover more about the device and its behavior over time, be it in terms of its power and its resistance to intensive use and its battery management, for example.

We will offer soon a complete test of the device, when we could use more time to make us a better view.
