Smartphones: Samsung Galaxy sells off its S6 – ZDNet France

This is a failure for Samsung. World number of mobile sees himself forced effect of significantly lowering prices of its latest Galaxy S6 launched there only three months. For if the two smartphones were widely hailed by critics, allowing the South Korean to reach the level of an Apple in terms of quality and design, sales have not allowed the group to restart its “mobile activity “.

In the second quarter, Samsung Electronics has posted a further decline in net profit (-8%). Blame the S6 with smartphones that have clearly not achieved the desired objectives, strong competition from Apple in China and great difficulties in the entrance-way line facing the low-cost producers.

While the group is preparing to launch its Note 5 (just before the new iPhone 6s), so it boosts the offensive around the S6 with price cuts that can reach over 20%.

The S6 32GB increases from 710 to 599 euros, while the Edge model (32 GB also) goes from 860 to 699 euros. The question is whether this tariff efforts, will allow Samsung to regain control, especially against Apple.
