Stylus Galaxy Note 5: Read the Samsung manual, and all will be well – ZDNet France

With iOS 6, Apple had the case of “Bendgate”. The manufacturer had largely relativized this story by ensuring that only a few customers had actually folded their smartphone. Samsung would he right to “Stylus gate”?

Android Police and Ars Technica have discovered a peculiarity of Note 5 they liken to a design flaw. What is it exactly? The new Samsung PHABLET therefore incorporates a stylus, the S Pen. It fits into the shell.

The error is not allowed

But attention to properly put the pen after use. Since the latter may be inserted upside down. Problem: it will be very difficult to leave it later. Otherwise, it will force, at the risk of damaging the terminal and the automatic detection of the stylus.

Now in the third generation of Samsung Note, it was impossible to insert the stylus in the wrong direction. Should we therefore speak of design flaw or problem it is above all the result of carelessness or user error and therefore the sole responsibility?

No secret is in the manual

For Samsung, it is clearly not a design flaw and it is the user’s responsibility to consult the manual Use to keep such a mishap.

“We strongly recommend that users of the Galaxy Note 5 to follow the instructions of the manual to ensure that they are not faced with such a scenario caused by unexpected reintegration in the opposite direction of the S-Pen “responded the Korean manufacturer to the BBC.

After verification, Android Police confirmed that the smartphone’s operating manual specifically warns against improper rehabilitation of the stylus in the terminal. A warning clearly explains the risks of blocking the stylus and damage. This information was not included however the instructions in Note 4.
