The Los Angeles Galaxy gives a lesson in New York City FC – Eurosport.fr

The Galaxy, the defending champion, has completely overwhelmed his opponent in the second half with four goals in 27 minutes, including two goals from Robbie Keane. The Irishman, best player of the 2014 season and third top scorer in MLS with 15 goals, also made two assists.

Despite its recruiting four stars with the arrival of David Villa, Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard, the New York City FC, MLS newcomer, still has a long way to go. The highly anticipated reunion between two old glories of the English Premier League, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, have not taken place.

If Gerrard has held its place and distilled the decisive pass leading to the fourth goal of the Galaxy, Lampard was not on the scoresheet. Former Chelsea midfielder still has not recovered from a thigh injury. Villa, another famous rookie NYCFC, saved the honor of his team with a penalty in the 80th, his 15th goal of the season. After the 13th victory in 27 games, the Galaxy is in the Western Conference lead with 46 points, while the New York City FC seventh in the Eastern Conference with 28 points.
