A new Gear VR for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7? – Frandroid

Samsung is expected to propose a new version of its Gear VR soon, because of the possible transition to the USB-C on the Galaxy Note 7. This time, the connection would be wireless.

in all likelihood, the next Samsung Galaxy Note 7 should finally exchange the microUSB port for USB-C, something that is expected since the release of the Galaxy S6. It must be said that many competitors of the Korean company have adopted this type of connectors, and this is the case of LG neighbor with his G5.

And if the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will team a USB-C port, the manufacturer will be forced to offer a new version of its virtual reality headset, Gear VR, previous versions of the product connecting to compatible devices via the microUSB port.

But Samsung does not wish to deprive themselves of compatibility with older smartphones by offering Gear VR USB-C. Instead, the firm could launch a Gear VR connecting to mobile via Bluetooth and then transmitting images over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth is not powerful enough for video transmission. It would be in fact the same system used by the camera Gear 360.

Exactly, a reference to such a helmet was seen a few days ago in the documents of Zauba, an Indian importer which refers regularly new devices tests. Since Samsung had bet on the VR during his presentation of the S7 at the MWC, we bet we should see this new Gear VR at formalizing the Galaxy Note 7.
