According to estimates given by two research firms, sales of phones Samsung continued to rise while those of the Apple brand have continued to decline. The Korean manufacturer thus continues to widen its lead with nearly a quarter of global smartphone sales.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge focused Samsung
According to estimates by IDC the Korean manufacturer had managed to sell 77 million devices in the second quarter of the year which represents an increase of 5.5% compared to last year. Apple for its part would have managed to sell 40.4 million iPhones, its flagship product, which represents a significant 15% decline in sales of its flagship phone.
IDC Samsung would capture 22.4% of the global smartphone market while Apple no longer would weigh only up to 11.8%. Strategy Analytics, another firm, give fairly similar numbers by assigning 22.8% of global market Korean manufacturer and 11.9% in the US automaker. According to the two research firms, output models jewels of the Samsung brand S7 and S7 Samsung Edge in March have boosted sales of the manufacturer.
Samsung should continue to widen the gap by the end of the year
analysts of the two research firms estimate that the early August release of the Galaxy Note 7 PHABLET should allow Samsung to sit even more the position of leader of the Korean manufacturer. Experts also believe that Apple is struggling to renew its iPhone and disappoints more. The Apple brand not manage to raise the enthusiasm and SE iPhone should not help the US giant.
The analysis firms also show a slowdown in smartphone sales confirmed. Experts note that since the beginning of the year, sales are stagnating. Samsung therefore continues to prance top seller and Apple, with only 11.9% of sales, is now closely followed by the Chinese manufacturer Huawei with 9.4% market share.
