Qualcomm back home with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5? – Frandroid

Unlike previous Galaxy, Galaxy S6 Samsung does not include the last 810 Snapdragon Qualcomm. Instead, there is only the Exynos 7420 the Korean manufacturer. It seems that Qualcomm could be back with the Galaxy Note 5 and maybe even in a future version of the Galaxy S6.

With its Galaxy S6, Samsung did not want to appeal to the SoC Qualcomm. Instead, the manufacturer chose his house solution, the Exynos 7420. However, since the Galaxy S4, the Korean manufacturer was accustomed to release two versions of its flagship: one equipped with a Exynos SoC for Asia and another incorporating a Snapdragon for the rest of the world. However, it seems that the problems of heating and 810 Snapdragon performance have cooled the ardor of Samsung. It is also possible that Samsung wanted to highlight its solution in 14nm while the Snapdragon 810 is burned for his part in 20nm. It would have been difficult for Samsung to offer a version of the Galaxy S6 with a 14nm SoC and another version in 20nm. For the Galaxy Note 5, the situation could have changed .

If you believe the site Digitimes sources, Qualcomm could reintegrate Samsung ranks. The future Galaxy Note 5 could well be again available in two versions. The source does not specify SoC will be used, but there seem to be two possible choices. Either the Snapdragon 820 in 14 / 16nm FinFET it is ready in time, ie 20nm Snapdragon 815. It has not yet been announced by Qualcomm but there are traces of it in a leak of January and a recent rumor on its operating temperature.

The rumor goes a little further since it specifies that the Galaxy S6 could also be equipped with Qualcomm for its commercialization. It is possible that a special version of the Galaxy S6 equipped Snapdragon Snapdragon 820 815 or the light of day later this year. Not until the second half of 2015 to see if this rumor is confirmed.
