The operators have ordered 20 million copies of the new Samsung phones. The release is scheduled for April 10.
Mobile operators strong believe in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. They spent a record level of pre-orders for the two new smartphones from Samsung unveiled last week in Barcelona, according to a brand leader quoted by the Korea Times . “To be honest, the level of pre-orders is really huge,” said JK Shin had already, head of the mobile division of Samsung Electronics, a journalist at the Mobile World Congress.
In detail, Samsung would received 20 million pre-orders for both smartphones, 15 million for the Galaxy standard S6 and 5 million for the Edge S6, the model with the rounded edges of the screen, which will be sold more expensive. The first Galaxy S6 should be distributed around 650 euros.
These figures can not be compared with those provided by Apple, which sold 10 million iPhone sales in the first weekend in September last. These are orders placed by traders, not actual sales to customers. Wall Street Journal had mentioned the figure of 80 million iPhone 6 controlled by Apple to its suppliers.
The 20 million orders by operators are, however, an additional indicator of good reception in the Galaxy S6 compared to its predecessor. Samsung plans a major promotional campaign to accompany the release of its smartphones, both on the client side as distributors, reports the Korea Times . Galaxy S6 come out Friday, April 10 in a dozen countries, including France.
