Samsung Galaxy S6: sales figures that exceed the Galaxy … – Frandroid

According to analysts the firm Counterpoint, sales of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge greatly exceed those of the Galaxy S5 compared to the same period last year. Samsung is well on track to sell over 50 million copies of the two flagships of 2015.

Last year, the Galaxy S5 was launched in 125 countries simultaneously. This year, the Galaxy S6 and S6 were marketed edge, initially, in 20 different countries. Yet Counterpoint cabinet analysts (who analyze data from many different dealers in international markets and therefore sales, not deliveries) show that over the same period of twenty days (from launch to the end April), Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have sold better than the Galaxy S5 with a total of 6 million sales . In terms of market share, they would place respectively 3rd and 4th, behind the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus . Sales of Galaxy S6 and S6 edge represent 21% of total sales of Samsung in April against 15% for the Galaxy S5 in the same period last year.

Analysts believe Samsung could flow total 50 million (70 million had been heard in May) Galaxy S6 and S6 edge during the year and numbers could have been even higher if the Korean giant had not encountered production problems for its curved slabs . Remember, at the beginning of marketing, he whispered that almost 1 of 2 slab produced was defective. A loss of money, but also of opportunities since Samsung could not launch the two flagship stores around the world at the same time. Since the release of Galaxy S6, sales of the Galaxy S5 collapsed, like those of the Galaxy and Galaxy Note 4 A which fell by 30-40% compared to the month of March 2015.

Despite all, Samsung is still the number one manufacturer in terms of sales thanks to its broad portfolio of smartphones, with 83.3 million devices sold on the first quarter against 61.2 million for Apple and 22, 2 million for Motorola – Lenovo. Huawei and LG followed in 4th and 5th position. But Samsung’s market share did not increase despite the launch of the Galaxy S6.
