This is no less than 600 million devices in the Samsung Galaxy range that would be affected by a security breach via the virtual keyboard Swifkey, that is installed natively on these terminals. Samsung announced that deploying a patch is imminent, initially directed to smartphones equipped with Knox platform.

This fault Security-related virtual keyboard Swifkey is likely to cause problems on all devices in the Galaxy range, the S3 to S6, via the Galaxy Note. It was during the updating of the application that the terminals are vulnerable. When the smartphone connects to seek an update, a hacker can intercept this connection and send malware on the device.
The Korean company announced recently that it had found a solution to this fault. It will be deployed on the Galaxy embarking Knox platform that provides real-time protection and advanced security options. Suffice users to enable automatic updates in the security settings.
Other models will have to wait
smartphones equipped with Knox are the top models from S4. For other models, it is a different story and for now the Korean giant has not communicated a date for a possible final patch. It seems that it will be a firmware update which is currently under development.
This fault was corrected by Samsung earlier this year but operators may not have deployed Hotfix terminals of their customers. This is a phase that could take several months. Meanwhile it is advisable to avoid unsecured WiFi networks.
