The Galaxy S7 is one of the few Android smartphones to allow … – Frandroid

With the Galaxy S7, Samsung has not only sold a Galaxy S6 and improved Android Marshmallow. He also released an Android smartphone can share a wireless connection with other devices, a very rare feature on Android.

Connection Sharing

for years, Android smartphones allow you to share a data connection (like 4G) WiFi signal in order to share its connection with other devices. However, it is impossible to share a WiFi connection by WiFi signal with other devices. Something something very useful when a wireless signal is only available for one device, when the WiFi is not free, for example, in a hotel or in a living room.

Samsung did not release it. Yet the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge features well this handy feature. To do this, simply go to the menu “wireless access point and modem” then “Mobile Hotspot”. He must then go to the menu “More” button at the top right and then to go to “WiFi Sharing”. Once the connection sharing enabled, it is not the data, but the WiFi Galaxy S7 which is connected is shared.

We tested this feature with Galaxy S7 edge. It works perfectly and, in fact, turns any wireless access (2.4 or 5 GHz) to 2.4 GHz WiFi. To our knowledge, no smartphone except the Galaxy S7 offers this functionality. Hope it happens quickly in AOSP version of Android
