A third processor for the Galaxy S7? – Clubic

While there already are two versions of the Galaxy S7, Samsung might be flooring train on a third declension, with the key to another SoC MediaTek signed.

At its presentation at MWC last month, Samsung mentioned two different processors for its Galaxy S7. One provided by Qualcomm (the Snapdragon 820), and embedded in the models to China or the United States, and the other concocted by him (the Exynos 8890), which animates the GS7 marketed in Europe .

to read on the topic:

on a site referencing GeekBench scores (which you can download from our repository) appears however, since last week and another type for the Galaxy S7 SoC from Samsung. A MT6797T MediaTek is indeed present in this list, in a Galaxy S7 which reference is SM-G930W8.

The SoC in question is most likely the MediaTek Helio X25 presented by the MWC. A 64-bit chip, with 10 cores and operating at 1547 MHz or 2 GHz, as noted, sets relatively close scores of the other processors (Exynos or S820).

What actually prepared Samsung with this chip? Hard to say, but it is not excluded that the Galaxy S7 are, despite appearances, not directly concerned. The manufacturer could indeed be taken as a “guinea pig” their latest smartphone, reserving it to another SoC product.
