on paper, the Galaxy S7 won without problem as the best two, its specs do not really leave room for doubt. However, in practice, our tests show that the Galaxy A5 is often close to the GS7, sometimes even better. Everything will then depend on the weight you place in each of the qualities highlighted by these smartphones. Between very good and excellent, the limit is thin, but between 350 and 700 €, it is the well-marked reverse.
We deliberately put aside the aesthetic appearance of both devices. We are not here to judge which is the best. Neither aircraft presents a major poor ergonomics or finish.
The Galaxy S7, strengths well pleasing
Buying a Galaxy S7 can be justified if your main criterion is the photo. Indeed, it has undeniable qualities in the field, with a speed unmatched autofocus and sufficiently detailed shots. The GA5 is not a bad camera phone, far from it. It remains a step below her cousin.
The return of the sealed (IP68) on the Galaxy S7 is another of its strengths. Do not agonize over taking a picture beside a pool or ocean is an advantage, especially when you consider the rate at which the aqueous medium can destroy a device so expensive. Finally, if none of the points raised above is not predominant in the choice of your smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy A5 will be a great option, especially if it is certainly less than the S7 on these points, however, it is never ridiculous. It should generally a majority of users seeking a smartphone capable of doing everything in a beautiful way, without being hindered by the fact that it is not “the best”.
Above all, the Galaxy A5 advance a strong argument: its extremely strong autonomy. Inevitably, that says less defined screen and lower power, increased endurance also said, at least in theory. In practice, the GA5 can accompany you during two days without begging for food, and that no particular concession. A performance that will not reach the Galaxy S7, at least limit certain energy-intensive uses.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 is currently the most interesting smartphone to below € 400 and given the ODR 50 € always running (for any purchase prior to March 31, see the conditions on the Samsung site), it is more than 350 €. For many people, the gap between € 350 and GS7 GA5 does not really justified in terms of contribution to real use.
