Galaxy S7 vs LG G5: the best operating function Always On … – Phonandroid

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 offer both the Always On Display function for displaying various information in black and white on the phone screen without impacting the battery. But which of them runs the best?

First of all it is important to note that both phones do not offer the same screen technology. The LG G5 uses a IPS LCD where the Always On Display function will use only 30% of its normal brightness. It thus consumes only 0.8% of the battery each time .

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S7 offers a Super AMOLED screen on which the displayed items will require turning some white pixels. The Always on display only consumes 5% battery by 8 hours , according to our tests. An impact on the battery is negligible, in one case as in the other. But nevertheless noted that the G5 IPS screen, we see that the black area of the screen is on.

In terms of visibility, the result is excellent in one case as in the ‘other. IPS screens and Super AMOLED both phones offer a befitting display quality of the name. That said, in case of strong light, the Super AMOLED of the last screen Samsung takes advantage and still offers a higher level of clarity than its rival.

The contents displayed both phones are much the same with all the same more customization on the side of Samsung that offers different clock styles. The S7 also display an image on the screen. For its part, the G5 allows to customize it with a quote. Overall, it’s best to Samsung but also very good at LG. Also, note that this is a preproduction model and the feature in question may be extended by the output of the phone.
