Unless a surprise, our laboratory testing (scheduled March 22) should rank well Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge: the top models of the manufacturer range still among the best. However, sometimes the new does not dethrone those of the previous generation. The Galaxy S3, launched in late 2012, is still at the Galaxy S6, launched last April! No need to rush on the new Samsung smartphone, take the time to compare. Here are some tips to guide you.

If you are currently using a Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge Galaxy or Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, buy a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge will not change significantly. Your current smartphone is still largely in the race and the new generation does not bring anything new, nor office, or by characteristic. The return of the memory card is the only argument that could convince you if you are short of storage. Although, a few GB in the cloud probably will relieve your phone cheaply or even free (Microsoft offers onedrive example 5GB of free storage, Google Drive 15 GB).

What if I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 or S5

? the Galaxy S3, launched in 2012, remains a good smartphone if you do not make the technology race. Its technical characteristics are exceeded, but its price has dropped accordingly (215 €). Differences with the following generations have originated neither the screen size (about 5 inches, 16/9) or the weight of the device (around 140 grams, 10 close). But model after model, Samsung has maximized the area occupied by the screen: 66% on the GS3, this ratio rises to 82.5% in the S7 Edge. Meanwhile, the definition screen has improved, processors and RAMs were boosted, the photo sensor has been optimized, and the video resolution reaches the ultra-HD. If you use a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge, no precipitation. Coming through the generation S7 and cross your fingers for the next more innovative.

Even if you use a board Galaxy S5. Your smartphone is technically still in the race and does not suffer defects S6 (corrected on the S7): it is waterproof and has a memory card slot to expand storage.

The change becomes interesting from the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4. Should however opt for the Galaxy S7? Difficult to comment before the results of our laboratory testing.
