One of the main innovations of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is the presence of Always On mode, which displays useful information continuously on two phones screens without much impact the battery through a new algorithm.
the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were unveiled with rhinestones and sequins at the Mobile World Congress 2016, and made available there little. The Korean manufacturer meets a good success with his phone, despite the fact that he did not much difference with its predecessor aesthetically.
On the technical details, however, the return of the support micro SD card as well as the sealing (IP68) were enough to delight many users. But its major new feature remains Always On Display, which as explained in our test displays notifications and small widgets constantly on the screen.
We were astonished to learn that the Always on display will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S7 despite the fact it is mostly based on AMOLED technology enabling fully switch a pixel to display the black, and not eating anything.
But Samsung says aujourd ‘hui the principle of its operation, and we learn at the same time why this exclusivity. Indeed, it is a new battery management algorithm at the hardware level, called “ Smart Power Saving ” that allows this functionality more precisely manage the energy required for the management of screen.
So, the display consumes less Always on in normal use mode, which coupled with the AMOLED allows only impact slightly consumption battery of this feature. One suspects still that adapting this new algorithm to its old equipment is not impossible, but you have to keep some exclusivity.
This year, the Always On Display seems to be the feature eye-l’oeil flagship smartphone, Samsung as LG with its G5 offering their high-end smartphones. As to whether it will actually happen … Only time will tell.
