The Samsung Galaxy J2 appears on GFXBench – LesMobiles.com

samsung

The Galaxy J2 approach slowly, but surely. Known since the end of June, the new entry-level Samsung has just made a first appearance on a benchmark, indicating that functional prototypes are already in the wild. It is also an opportunity to return to its data sheet.

Samsung suffered some severe criticism after the launch of the Galaxy J1 Asia. Too bad because it was the first model of the range and a poor start is never good. Fortunately, he managed to catch up later with two new models surprisingly well equipped. A little too much maybe, even. This is obviously J5 and J7 of the Galaxy which, besides creating a break with the first model, also seem to move away from the target range we thought to offer smartphones, certainly decent, but really affordable . Hopefully Samsung will eventually find the right balance, with the Galaxy J2 perhaps?

This should be the next model in the range and, above all, the true successor of the Galaxy J1. Who says successor also said common base and small improvements. Not sure that this is enough to reverse the trend but the first rumors are rather reassuring. And now they seem to be confirmed in a report by GFXBench , although some elements are different.

qHD display of 4.5 inch or 4.7

It is also common for this type of report includes errors. This does not necessarily means that the information previously filtered are false. We include here serious doubts about the size reported for the screen: 5.7 inches. We miserions so rather on a diagonal of 4.5 or 4.7 inches, as reported in the past. This is also more consistent with the definition of 960 x 540 pixels of the report. The rest seems to correspond to what we knew, starting with the version of Android on board. 5.1.1 Lollipop

Exynos 3475 chipset and 1 GB of RAM or 1.5

We also find a quad-core Exynos 3475 chipset clocked at 1.3GHz, plus, good surprise, a Mali-T720 GPU. RAM up to 0.9 GB, but since GFXBench only considers free space, 1.5 GB total is probably not out of reach although 1GB seems more reasonable. Same thing for storage, listed with a capacity of 4.3 GB to 8 GB expected. As for cameras, we are also close to 5 and 2 megapixels announced by the rumors, which added to recall LED flash for each one, and a 2000 mAh battery.

The Galaxy J2 looks like being a good small entry level, hoping that the price is not too high. It will unfortunately probably wait for the official announcement to find out but it should now further delay judging by the resumption of leaks. There is no smoke without fire, as they say.
