Aesthetically, this Huawei Mate S is a real success. The Chinese manufacturer continues the work begun in the last few years. The aluminum case meets this premium positioning wanted by the brand. Especially the unit is very light and more compact than its predecessor. We especially like the positioning of the fingerprint reader on the back of the device. A rather original position and well thought by the Chinese as it gains in functionality compared to Mate 7 and will be even more useful to the buyer.
If you have already taken your hands on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, you may appreciate to find the same design and the same grip on a larger format. The build quality seems to be at the height of his elder caregiver while the overall size of the device and its weight, really surprising for this format
Our opinion:. Huawei is largely the job with his Mate S for its design and its compactness. The phone is surprisingly light and rather late. An impression validated in use. No surprises on the side of Edge + S6. The design is identical to that of his older but it is mostly very light hand.

Huawei has revised the format of its Mate S. The slab of screen returns to something more reasonable. We are moving from a format of six inches for the Mate 7 to 5.5 inches for this PHABLET. It is the same size as the iPhone 6 Plus or LG G4 for example. The quality of the screen should be at the height of most applications (games, video, web) with a Full HD resolution. The Chinese manufacturer has not seen fit to go beyond (Quad HD, 4K). We can only agree with him. Damage, however, that the Force Touch technology is available for the 128 GB version.

Mate S proposes a motor home 64bit, Kirin 935, which is a development of that fitted to the P8 (Kirin 930). It also offers 3 GB of RAM and storage capacity starting at 32GB to reach 128GB. Performance should be logically the best smartphone on the other hand we do not expect miracles for graphics that should remain relatively low. You will notice especially when you do run games. Rendering textures is abandoned in favor of the fluidity of the game.
The South Korean firm has chosen to equip the terminal of the same features as the rest of its range with a house Exynos 7420 processor and graphics chip ARM Mali-T760 MP8. Our opinion:. Mate S should propose beautiful shots. The key will lie once again in the rendering in low light. Our test pushed the camera will tell us what it really is. Two versions of the Huawei PHABLET will be available at launch: 32 and 64 GB to 128 GB version will arrive later in the year.. The price of the 32GB version is set at 649 euros.
