A new Samsung patent filing seems to reveal the brand under which the giant market its flexible products.
Samsung worked for many years on the creation of flexible devices. It was first seen in recent years the advent of curved screens that allowed the giant to create the range Galaxy Edge. But the flexible devices designed by the manufacturers go further, it is necessary to be able to twist more components of the device as the battery or its motherboard.
If you believe a recent filing patent from Samsung, the giant is making progress in this area. It shows a device that could make alternate form between that of a smartphone with a screen keyboard on each side of an alarm clock or a bracelet to the needs of the user.
The most interesting with this new patent filing is the name Samsung gives the device in its use cases. On one of the images, we can indeed see the assumed name of the product and it would be the Samsung Galaxy Wing . This name is probably anything but final, as no leakage of product into production occurs, but it looks pretty names used by Samsung to be credible. The use of the word wing is interesting, a term that refers probably the curvature can take the wing of a bird similar to what Samsung is seeking with this project. The images, like words, have meaning and expresses a wing in general lightness and speed, two important features for our mobile products.
Anyway, the arrival of the products completely flexible seems to be one of the next rotating the market. LG and Samsung, which provide many manufacturers screens are preparing for several years and other manufacturers like Lenovo have already made known their interest in this technology. Apple for its part also files patents on the subject and it is rumored that iPad with flexible display is in preparation for 2018.
