The United States announced Thursday the recall of a million smartphones model Galaxy Note 7 Samsung purchased before 15 September, because they present a risk of explosion, putting pressure on the south Korean group.
The u.s. national Commission for consumer protection (CPSC) states that 92 incidents have been registered to date in the country of which 26 relate to explosions that resulted in burns.
Fifty-five incidents have damaged material goods, adds the regulator and stating that there have been outbreaks of fire in cars and even in a garage.
“The lithium-ion battery fitted to the Galaxy Note 7 may overheat and explode, posing serious risks of unexpected burns to consumers,” says the CPSC, which had already urged last week the Americans, owners of a smartphone, Galaxy Note 7, to turn off their devices and stop to use it.
